(TITC) - From 31st December 2024 to 1st January 2025 at Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, activities will take place to “Welcome New Year 2025”.
The program will introduce to people and tourists the early spring culture with rituals, festivals, and customs of different regions. Thereby, helping tourists understand more about traditional cultures and characteristics of ethnic groups; contributing to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of the nation; strengthening exchanges between ethnic groups, solidarity, cohesion, and mutual support for development at the beginning of the new year 2025.

Accordingly, in the northern highland market space of ethnic villages area I, the "Highland Market Space - Welcoming the New Year 2025" will take place from 31st December 2024 to 1st January 2025. The market space has the participation of 50 booths recreating the colourful cultural space of ethnic groups in the highlands. The highlight is the scene of the market space combined with the joyful atmosphere of going to the market, dancing together, pounding rice cakes of Mong ethnic boys and girls; folk songs, folk dances, folk games (pushing sticks, tug of war, throwing balls...), ethnic cuisine, local products, traditional crafts with the colors of Mong, Dao, Thai ethnic groups (Thanh Hoa) and groups of northern people who are operating daily at the Cultural Village.

In the market space, there is also a painting exhibition called "Colours of the Market" introducing the photo space about the beauty of the land and people of the mountainous district of Thanh Hoa and some photos of the cultural space held at the Cultural Village; introducing and performing the Khen dance of the Mong ethnic group in Thanh Hoa province; introducing and performing the traditional handicrafts of the Dao and Thai groups in Thanh Hoa province and the ethnic minorities in the North who are active daily at the Cultural Village. Along with that, the folk song and dance program "Colours of the Market" of the Dao, Mong, Thai ethnic groups in Thanh Hoa province and ethnic groups in the North is operating daily at the Cultural Village with folk songs and dances celebrating the country, praising the homeland, the national identity of the region, welcoming the spring of 2025.

One of the highlights is the program reenacting the "new rice celebration" ceremony of the Thai ethnic group in Thanh Hoa province at 9:00 a.m. on 1st January 2025 at the Thai ethnic village, ethnic village area I. The "new rice celebration" ceremony of the Thai people will introduce a traditional cultural feature with profound humanity that the Thai people value and preserve from generation to generation. This is an opportunity for family members and neighbors to reunite, have fun, share work, build families and strengthen community solidarity. Another highlight is the reenactment of an excerpt from the Lucky Festival of ethnic minorities in Thanh Hoa province from 2:30 p.m. on 1st January 2025 at the northern highland market of ethnic villages I. Every time Tet comes, villagers eagerly invite each other to pray for good luck and good crops. The shaman who presides over the ceremony will pray to the gods for favorable weather and good health for the villagers.

In addition, there are daily and weekend activities of 16 ethnic communities; experiential tourism programs, introducing cake making and wrapping to serve tourists; folk games, praying for peace and blessing activities at spiritual spaces of Khmer pagodas, Cham towers... introducing the culture, customs and practices of the ethnic groups, along with experiential activities at the "Common House" of the community of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups.
