(TITC) - From 13th to 15th December, the Vietnam Day 2024 in Saudi Arabia took place in Riyadh - the capital of Saudi Arabia. This is a special opportunity for Vietnamese culture to spread widely in the Middle East region, with the theme "Convergence of the quintessence of a thousand years of culture - Growing up in the era of wealth and prosperity".

“Vietnam Days Abroad” is an annual national promotion program assigned by the Prime Minister to the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) to organize since 2010. To date, the program has reached 20 countries, fulfilling the goal of promoting the image of the country, people and culture of Vietnam to international friends; contributing to deepening and sustaining the relationship between Vietnam and other countries and strengthening friendship, understanding and mutual trust between the people of these countries and Vietnam.

The cultural space is delicately designed with a complex of exhibitions and diverse cultural experiences and exchanges, imbued with Vietnamese identity. The photo exhibitions “The Quintessence of Vietnamese Culture” and “World Heritage Sites in Vietnam recognized by UNESCO” are brilliant highlights, introducing the image of the beautiful country of Vietnam, from famous landscapes to unique cultural heritages, helping viewers have a clearer view of Vietnam's role in cultural preservation and socio-economic development in localities.

The art experience area received attention from the Saudi Arabian public and international friends. Here, Vietnamese artisans guided visitors to make colorful clay figurines, try their hand at traditional Dong Ho painting, or create sparkling lacquer paintings. These activities not only bring creative moments but also help international friends better understand the culture and creative, ingenious spirit of Vietnamese people.
Besides, the art stage with performances of traditional musical instruments bearing the mark of traditional music also attracted the audience. The audience was amazed by the performance of the flute quartet, erhu, pipa and monochord, which are still very new to the people of the Middle East in general and Saudi Arabia in particular.

Food stalls with typical flavours from Vietnamese dishes have been transformed to meet Halal culinary standards, such as herbal beef Pho, fried seafood spring rolls, shrimp summer rolls and grilled chicken... prepared directly at the event, attracting diners.
