The 100 artefacts displayed to the public this time are typical artefacts of the reign of Khai Dinh - the 12th emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. Artefacts are selected from the collections at the Vietnam National Museum of History and Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities.

With an abundance of materials (gold, silver, jade, ivory, ceramics, cloth, paper); variety of types and functions from treasures symbolising the power of the king - seal, sword, throne, Kim book (a special kind of ancient bibliography, made from precious metals, used to record official affairs and court ceremonies); to the altar, worshipping object, Sắc phong (king’s document to grant honorary title); interior decorations, daily utensils, or even artefacts related to the solemn reward rites of the dynasty…

Typically, among these are the precious metals and jewels. During his 10-year reign (1916 - 1925), Emperor Khai Dinh had 12 golden treasures and jewels. Symbolising the king of throne, the treasure of Emperor Khai Dinh also includes a treasure sword, named "An Dan Bao Kiem" made from many materials: gold, tortoise, glass, iron,…

These artefacts are mainly produced by royal workshops, manufactured to serve the king, the royal family and the royal court; others, ordered from abroad (mainly in China, France and England) with title lines and accounts (name and date).

The exhibition not only shows gratitude to the emperor who founded the Musée Khai Dinh - Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities, but also recognizes the efforts of generations of museum workers in collecting, preserving and promoting the values of the cultural heritage of the Nguyen Dynasty in general.

The exhibition takes place from 24th August to 23rd November 2023 at Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities, 3 Le Truc Street, Dong Ba Ward, Hue City.
