(TITC) - Dong Hoi Grand Marathon 2023 will be held by Viet Jungle Limited in coordination with Quang Binh Provincial Department of Culture and Sports. The event aims to promote and introduce to domestic and international friends about the potential and strengths of Quang Binh tourism and Dong Hoi City tourism, contributing to expanding cooperation, culture, sports and tourism exchange between Quang Binh and other provinces and cities in Vietnam and in the world.
The event is also to celebrate 50th anniversary of diplomatic relationship establishment between Vietnam and Japan.
The Dong Hoi Grand Marathon will let runners explore historical and scenic places of Quang Binh such as Quang Binh Quan (Quang Binh Citadel Gate), Dong Hoi Ancient Citadel, Mother Suot Monument, Nhat Le Bridge, … Additionally, with the road running along the coastline, athletes will be able to see the golden sand, the clear blue water of the charming Nhat Le Beach in the dawn light.
Bao Ninh Beach Square will be the main venue of the event, Expo area, Start and Finish Gate will also be held here. With a unique design imbued with Japanese culture and characteristics, the running track at the starting and finishing gates is designed with two rows of cherry blossom trees, the flower that is the symbol of Japan. Participants in the tournament are professional and amateur, male and female athletes. Participants will compete across four categories, 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km. The tournament is expected to attract about 1,500 Vietnamese and foreign athletes.

The starting time and place of the competition will be at 03:00 on 9th July 2023 at Bao Ninh Beach Square and other routes in Dong Hoi City.
