(TITC) - Vietnam has been ranked 16th among the world’s top 100 cuisines, according to the latest global rankings released by TasteAtlas - a notable rise that reinforces the country’s growing reputation as a leading culinary destination.
The ranking is based on aggregated ratings from food experts and international diners across thousands of traditional dishes, ingredients, and beverages.
This latest result marks a steady upward trajectory for Vietnamese cuisine. In previous editions, Vietnam placed 19th in 2024 and 16th in the 2025-2026 list, reflecting consistent global recognition and improving scores over time.
A cuisine defined by balance and diversity
TasteAtlas highlights Vietnam’s cuisine for its balance of flavours, fresh ingredients, and regional diversity. Signature dishes such as pho (noodle soup), Banh mi, bun bo Hue (Hue spicy noodle soup), and banh xeo (crispy pancakes) are frequently cited as examples of the country’s distinctive culinary identity.

In addition to the overall ranking, several Vietnamese dishes have also gained international acclaim. According to recent reports, items like bo kho (beef stew), bun bo Hue (Hue spicy noodle soup), and com tam (broken rice) have appeared in global “best dishes” lists, further elevating Vietnam’s gastronomic profile.

The improved ranking underscores Vietnam’s increasing appeal not only as a travel destination but also as a global food capital, where street food culture and regional specialities play a central role in attracting international visitors.
With its continued rise in global rankings, Vietnam is strengthening its position as one of the most compelling culinary destinations in the world, offering authentic, affordable, and richly diverse food experiences.
